Welcome to Tomorrow

To launch their highly anticipated next generation elevator series, Otis Elevators wanted an exciting way to engage thousands of industry executives with a unique global product launch. Gen City Labs partnered with Otis Elevators to create a visually stunning and immersive replica of a skyscraper to serve as the virtual host of their global conference, “Welcome to Tomorrow.” The event featured key regional Otis leaders and subject matter experts. The program included four broad topics; world views, industry views, regional trends, and specific product launches.

The global launch event followed a “chasing the sun” rollout with regional events taking place in the Americas, EMEA, APAC, and China. The custom virtual event site allowed guests to choose from one of 12 different languages, and included a region-specific cityscape and design elements to make users feel at home.

The attendee journey started in the host building’s pristine Sky Lobby, where a user was then led into a custom-designed Otis elevator. A user then interacted with the elevator dashboard and was taken on a stylized transition up to the scenic Rooftop environment, where a guest watched the opening Keynote and product launch from a beautiful outdoor virtual venue.

Following the keynote, a guest would return to the elevator, where two new floors were now available to explore. The Product Showcase environment included a rotating, interactive 3D model of the new Gen3/Gen360 Otis elevator, with hotspots a guest could click on to review further information about the new product, including engineering specs, safety features and more. A guest could also download brochures in their preferred language that included all of the new product information.

On the third floor, now available to explore, a guest could complete their journey with a virtual meeting with an Otis engineer and subject matter experts via Zoom or real-time chat.
