For the Climate Change Conference in Katowice, Poland, Visa asked Gen City Labs to develop a lush virtual tropical forest/ecosystem that progressively degraded over time to demonstrate the effects of climate change. The 10’x10′ LED wall featured on-screen messaging along with an interactive kiosk inviting attendees to make a donation via Visa’s contact-less payment system to help restore the virtual ecosystem. Over a two week span, nearly 20k guests supported climate resiliency by making donations.
Following the success of this activation, Visa asked Helios to develop a version of the experience for the web. The UN Climate Change site brings the experience to a global audience in order to raise awareness and collect donations for the agency’s efforts.
