For the grand opening of their new Brand House specialty store in Chicago, Under Armour wanted to make a big splash. Gen City Labs created the perfect game to get guests pumped up at the event. By building a stunning 3D virtual environment of Chicago and using a Kinect camera to recognize specific gestures, guests competed against each other in a three stage race through the iconic cityscape. After running down Michigan Avenue, kayaking through the Chicago River, and climbing up the stairs of Willis Tower, guests were then rewarded with a virtual view and photo opportunity from atop the Chicago landmark building. The photo proved a worthy keepsake with 84% of guests opting to receive it while the event itself was a huge success.
