ApeFest Clubhouse Takeover
Cheeky monkeys
For Yuga Labs’ third Bored Ape Yacht Club’s epic Apefest, Gen City Labs (a Made By Apes company) created an experience that allowed all community members a way to showcase their BAYC/MAYC NFTs as part of an ‘Ape Takeover’ experience. Yuga’s vision was to build an experience for both IRL and remote participants – to provide a way to recognize every member and allow them to flex their PFP (and provide a message to the web3 world!). First, GCL built a responsive website, with a token-gated portal authenticated by Tokenproof, for users to submit their BAYC/MAYC number and a message. During the Apefest event, their Ape and message would be showcased on large LED displays, individual screens, remote tickers, and custom flip boards throughout the venue – allowing every individual the ability to participate, and create a much talked about (and tweeted about!) interactive experience. Users received a photo of their own takeover via email after the event, allowing them to see their Ape in action – and providing the perfect piece of content to share as part of BAYC’s viral social media efforts. 600 apes, thousands of attendees, and hundreds of thousands of impressions later, and the Ape Takeover was a ‘wild’ success.
