The ESSENCE Festival of Culture is the nation’s largest festival by per day attendance. It is held in New Orleans every July Fourth holiday weekend for the last 30 years. Not all fans of the ESSENCE legacy brand can make it to the Crescent City so in 2023 we gave all Essies a peek into the magic using an easy-to-access Augmented Reality portal. From anywhere in the world, a user could be transported to the Convention Center pink carpet, into the Beauty Zone, or onto the Superdome stage. Viewing goals were exceeded by over 500% for year one, with average viewing time exceeding 5 minutes.
